Bo Pelini is gone after seven years, winning nine games or more every year and winning four division titles. He’ll earn a handsome $7.65 million and his assistants will earn a combined $3.1 million as AD Shawn Eichorst relieved Pelini of his duties.
It certainly set off some vociferous reactions among the Husker faithful, but no matter the feelings the reality is the Huskers are moving on.
The question is, who and what are they moving on to? Will it be someone with ties to the program or someone with head coaching experience?
Only Eichorst knows exactly what he’s looking for, and I’m sure we’ll get some clue about that when he addresses the media at a 1p.m. CT press conference.
However, there are five candidates that immediately jumped to mind, five names Eichorst should be considering. So, let’s get to those five names.
