Spartans football going all-white for matchup with Western Michigan

Michigan State Spartans unveil alternate uniform and helmet that should be a big hit.

Go Green. Go White.

On Sept. 9th, 2017, that last part is apparently going to be emphasized to the extreme. That’s because the Michigan State Spartans football program announced an all-white design for its game against the Western Michigan Broncos.

We’ve seen the all-white uniform look plenty, but the helmets going white with the green Spartan logo and stripe is certainly new. It also is striking and sleek at the same time.

How did it take them this long to get it done? Seriously, these may be my favorite alternate uniforms Michigan State has come up with. Much better than the pewter/gold/dark green/black combo we’ve seen before.

But, this isn’t the first time a white-green helmet combo has come about. MSU has used it sparingly in the past. That includes a 2014 version of the white helmet for the Oregon matchup.

Now the question is if the new look will also represent a fresh start for a team that has had a brutal offseason of attrition and legal troubles.
