Way-too-early 2015 Big Ten football power rankings

8. Michigan Wolverines

img24923872Hail Harbaugh, the savior of Michigan Wolverines football has arrived. Now about that roster and the actually state of the Michigan program.

When one takes a look at the roster heading in to 2015 there is plenty to fear about this team making a Hoke-like quick turnaround. Not only are there major questions at quarterback, but the offensive line is still a giant mess and gone is the best pass-catching threat in Devin Funchess too.

That says nothing of a running back by committee that needs to be sorted out as well.

Defensively there is some talent back, but someone will have to step in to the giant hole left by middle linebacker Jake Ryan. Mike McCray, a freshman last season was on the two-deep behind Ryan to end the season.

Luckily, Harbaugh will look to an experienced and talent-rich secondary for leadership in 2015. Back are cornerbacks Blake Countess and Jourdan Lucas and there is this guy by the name of Jabrill Peppers to consider as well.

Michigan is going to need to lean on its defense in a major way if it is to make a run at a nine-win season or better. I just don’t know that there is a super fix awaiting the offense, and that may be the albatross around the program’s neck next season.
