Top 5 Big Ten Running Backs entering 2015 offseason

As spring football gets underway (yep, it’s already going on at two schools) it’s also time to take a look at the top players at each position heading in to the 2015 offseason.

Naturally, given we’re talking the Big Ten there’s no better place to start talking about the league than to start at the position that defines it more than any other — running back.

One thing we do know, this group is going to look a lot different in 2015 than it did last season. With seven of the top 10 rushing totals from last season all either graduated or off to the NFL that means a lot of potential for others to step up and for new names to emerge.

However, this position was so deep last season that many of the “backups” were just as good as the starters and it leaves us with an interesting group heading in to spring games.

Let’s take a look at the top five running backs heading in the 2015 spring season…shall we?
