talking10’s 2015 Big Ten football individual awards

Bakken-Andersen Kicker of the Year: Griffin Oakes, Indiana

Only two kickers had more attempts than Oakes did (25), but Oakes led the Big Ten in field goal percentage. He connected on 88 percent of his field goals in the regular season (22 of 25), and that combination of attempts and accuracy makes one pay attention.

Not only did he connect on a ton of field goals, Oakes hit on all but two of his 17 attempts in conference play. That’s clutch and that is also a lot of help in getting his team to the promised land of bowl eligibility.
