Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year: Carl Nassib, Penn State

Oh, you thought we were done talking about or gushing over the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year? No, no, no, no my friends.

Nassib’s incredible ability to disrupt opposing offenses was a thing of beauty, but it was even more so when you realize he also faced the same treatment as the much more highly touted Joey Bosa. Both are up for the 46th annual Rotary Lombardi Award, as both were picked as finalists.

Still, it is hard to ignore the fact that everyone on the field knew who to block and double or triple team and still he put up those kind of numbers. It would be really hard to pick against Nassib given those raw numbers.
