It was a lucky season in some respects, because it almost didn’t happen. Conklin had a nasty looking roll-up happen to him late in September and many feared he was done for the season by the looks of things on tape. However, he missed just two games and became his old reliable self as the season went on.
Michigan State’s offensive line gave up just 15 sacks as a team this season, good for third in the conference. Conklin, who is just a junior in 2015, was one of the most dominant offensive linemen in the conference and it earned him Outland Trophy award watch list status. If he stays past this season, look for him to be a front-runner for the award next season.
