5 B1G early enrollee’s with best chance to make an instant impact

As attention turns to national signing day, some seem to forget that there are important members of those classes already on campus. For some schools in the Big Ten, early enrollees have become key cogs thanks to the amount of extra time they’ve got to spend in the playbook and on the practice field.

What used to be a way for some of the lesser known recruits to get a leg up on the bigger names to come later, has become a place for quarterbacks and some of the more ready players to get a leg up on securing spots on the depth chart.

Still, being a freshman early enrollee isn’t a guarantee of immediate playing time, it’s far from it actually. The reality is, playing as a true freshman is not the norm, despite the increase in the numbers of them popping up over the past few years.
