Iowa is getting everything it can handle and thensome from FCS in-state rival Northern Iowa. So much so that it needs every last play from Jake Ruddock and the passing game to keep ahead of the visiting Panthers.
One such pass came at the exact right time, and gave us perhaps the best play of the weekend in the Big Ten. With Iowa up just 17-13, Ruddock dropped a dime in to junior wide reciever Tevaun Smith, who in turn made a spectacular one-handed catch.
It was Smith’s first catch of the game, but Ruddock has gone 24-of-30 for 159 yards and has three touchdowns already.
