2014 Preseason Big Ten Position Rankings: Tight Ends

We continue rolling along in our preseason position preview series after starting out with the glory hounds of our attention — quarterbacks. So, why not dive in to those who will be catching passes from said quarterbacks right? It’s time to look in to the unsung pass catchers, the tight ends.

While most think of offensive lineman, running backs and linebackers first when they think of the Big Ten, there’s plenty of talent to have come from the tight end position as well. In 2014 that talent level will be on full display as well.

Five members of the Big Ten were named to the John Mackey Award watch list this preseason alone, and there are many more that could wind up being on further lists later in the season if talent equals production. So, with that, let’s get in to the rankings of the tight end groups in the Big Ten.
