Nebraska Cornhuskers get new alternate adidas TECHFIT uniforms

Nebraska has gone the way of alternate uniforms in recent years, and that trend will continue in to 2014. On Friday, head coach Bo Pelini unveiled the new “RedRising” uniforms to his team and some of the gathered media.

Here is a look at the uniforms from the Huskers Twitter account:

Nebraska is playing its 125th season of football, and this uniform finds various ways to honor that, including on the inside of the gloves.

What is most interesting is seeing absolutely zero white involved in the uniform, outside of an accent around letters and numbers.

For me, the helmet is the most interesting part of the uniform, as it’s red with a black stripe that reminds me of what Navy has worn in the past for its annual clash…errr, beat down of Army. It also chose to go with a matte red and black look, a very interesting choice and one I’m not sure I like after getting a look.

At least Bo Pelini got in on the act:

I have to wonder where the reaction was from the Huskers players. Seriously, there was no happiness or anything else when Pelini walked in to the room. Check out the video for the player “reaction.”
