Power Ranking the 2014 Big Ten Bowl Games

The Big Ten got 10 bowl eligible teams this season for just the second time in its history, and thanks to a little trickeration by the College Football Playoff selection committee also got all 10 teams in to a bowl game. So, congratulations on creating a new conspiracy theory for the Twitterverse to harp on the next 12 months.

Oh, and I’m sure Jim Delany is sending a nice set of Omaha Steaks your way right this very minute.

Beyond that, this is the first year in the Big Ten’s new bowl alignment and despite the ribbing and ragging the conference got after its horrendous Week 2 performance it ended up with a team in the inaugural New Years Six bowl games and another vying for the first ever College Football Playoff national championship.

That said, not every bowl matchup will be exciting or entertaining and some are just downright snoozefests waiting to happen.

So, we’ll take in to consideration the matchup involved, the prestige of the bowl game and importance to the team involved.

With that in mind here are the 2014-15 Big Ten bowl games power rankings.
